Introduction

The 'User Fields Configuration' feature in ConnectALL is used when there is no API support to get the field information from an adapter or if an adapter does not provide API support to get hidden/custom field information. In such scenarios, the user fields configuration feature helps you configure these field information. You can configure user fields for the following:

  • Adapter
  • Connection
  • Automation

Note that you have to be an administrator in ConnectALL to access this module. Also, only a CA-ADMIN can configure a field at the Adapter/Application level.

Application Tab

To configure the user fields, click the Application tab.

  • Click the cogwheel icon and select the option User Fields from the drop-down list. The following screen is displayed. 
  • Choose any Application Type (adapter) from the drop-down list, and click Search. If the user fields are already available, the result will be displayed (as shown below). Click Add Field to add a new field.
  • An empty screen will be displayed if you have not added add any field. Provide the input for field id, name and datatype and click on to save.
  • The newly added field information will be displayed (below image) once it is saved successfully.
  • Click on (edit icon) beside the field to make any changes to it, and click on to save the changes. Click on to delete any existing user field.
  • If the configured user field on the end application is a list field (or drop-down value field), then click the icon (against the field) to configure the list values (or drop-down values). When you click, the Field Values popup will open (below screen). Click Add Value to configure list field values.
  • User field values, once added, will be displayed as shown below (Value ID 1 and Value ID 2). Similar to fields, even field values can be edited or deleted.

Connection Tab

Similar to Adapter level field configuration, user fields also can be configured at the connection level or in an automation level. To do this:

  • Click the Connection tab.
  • Choose an adapter from the Application Type drop-down list. All the configured connections will be displayed as in the below image.
  • Choose any one of the connections and click Search URL. If you have configured user fields, they will be displayed as in the  below image. You can add, edit, or delete a field.

Automation Tab

To add user fields to an automation, follow the below procedure:

  • Click the Automation tab. Select an application from the Application Type drop-down list and click Search. All the automations configured for that adapter will be displayed as below:

  • To find the fields configured in an automation, select any of the displayed automation and click Search. The Configured Fields screen will display the fields (if any). You can add, delete or edit a field on that screen.


Configured Fields and List Values

The configured fields and list values will be displayed as below when trying to create/modify an automation.

In case, if there are more number of connections/automations available for a chosen adapter type, you have the provision to do a search and the search results will be displayed as below. If you want to search for an automation, enter the search text and click Search LinkName. The corresponding search results will be filtered and displayed. Also, if you have already configured the fields for the automations, the total number of fields configured for each automation will be displayed against it as displayed below:         

Import/Export Feature

If you want to configure the same set of fields configured in one option (adapter/connection/automation) for another, then use the Import/Export option displayed below. The Import/Export of drop down values is also possible from the below displayed screen.

Assumptions

  1. Field configured by the user should be a valid field which can be sent for create/update record.
  2. Field validation will not be done by ConnectALL.
  3. If create/update record API support is not available for hidden fields, ConnectALL sync will fail.
